Laura can you remind me where these lakes are?

Mark of the park report for 4/7/17
Looks like it will freeze tonight. (Friday)
Lakes and ski trails will be good in the mornings.
Saw a couple on X lake this morning. They loved it. moved to the ski trails after. Jim G. pulled the markers for the Erradic loop. Not recommended to ski that trail. Lakes are getting soft in the afternoons also. Snow gets soft around 11:00 am. so, Enjoy one of the last weekends to ski.

Just the motivation I needed thanks!

Three of us ran WHIGMI to dipper this morning at 8:00 and it was still pretty good. Won't last long though.

I rode X-Y Lakes this morning and it was stellar. Some sun cups to deal with, but we got a good freeze last night. The red multi-use trail was too rutted up to be enjoyable. Thanks for all of the grooming this season! Enjoy the sun! ... See MoreSee Less

Arthur Mannix,Karl Swanson, Jack West and I managed to clean out, deconstruct, and haul to the Top Notch log yard Mike & Suzanne Fisher's cabin. The club decided it would be put to best use on the Powers Rd. property and this is phase 1. Thanks go to Karl for getting permission from his neighbors to take the sane way in, putting his machines and equipment at our disposal, and for being tall enough to grab those top few rounds. Thanks Jack for hauling machines and logs around. Thanks Arthur taking the time off your projects to do the hard, dirty work of grunting logs. And thanks to all three of you for keeping the heavy work light. ... See MoreSee Less

It was a great couple of days

You guys rock! I wish I could be there.

Gorgeous woodworking!

Wow!

Whigmi to Fish Lake Park and points in between have been groomed for skate skiing, biking and other adventures. The hills could be icy, so please be careful. This is quite possibly the last grooming this season! For bikers, walkers and people with dogs I would suggest you consider going in the mornings so the trail will hold up longer. Thanks and have a good summer! ... See MoreSee Less

Thanks for all your work this winter.

Yes, thanks so much Jim! You are awesome!

Thank you!!

Thank you!

Thanks, Jim, and Happy Birthday! Hope you get to enjoy these trails on your birthday.

Happy birthday Jim. Hope you felt better than your little birthday buddy, Kylie, who had an upset stomach and didn't feel like going out for her birthday pizza! Thanks for all your hard work grooming all winter.

Did what is likely to be my last trip past dipper for a few months this morning and spent the hour having very fond thoughts for all the great groomers who kept the trails in great shape! Thank you all! Now let's get this snow outa here and get us some dry trails so I can start trail running! I'm also dying for a nice lake swim!

Thank you!!

One of the last post for the year. groomed X lake and set double track there. Not much use on the ski trails so we did't groom them.
Ran the Erratic trail with snow machine. Would be a great snowshoe walk.Everything is holding up well for now. But, will see. As Jim says, Best skiing in the am. Have a great weekend.

not as of yesterday but it wasn't bad for classical skiing - some crust, some windblown powder.

Thanks Corinne

Randomly writing in hopes will see...a young woman from the Czech Republic is going thru the museum and is looking for skis to rent so she can go out on the trails today or early Sunday. Phone # of anyone willing to rent to her...boot size 39/40 and about 5'4"... (hey, you never know until you ask...I have nothing that size)

Dipper slough can be skated. Some sections narrow but trail in good shape

Fish has not been groomed since the wind.

Much of the Oosik trail is good to Skate currently. Especially the talkeetna river as accessed from the end of beaver road bot up and down stream. If you do not mind narrow sections the woods are also good. no classic tracks have been set yet but it has been dragged. Ski on

Can someone please tell me when the next ski club meeting is ... See MoreSee Less
