The Frozen Basil 6th Annual Poker Ski! Saturday March 25 at 12:00. Starting at the Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe and ending at The Fairview.

The trails from Whigmi to Fish Lake Park were all groomed Friday. There is a new section put in on the far Whigmi trail, the sign will tell you where it goes. Use caution on the hills! The new trail could use a couple of days for the base to become solid, it was finished Sunday. So if you could refrain from taking dogs or bikes on it that would be appreciated. ... See MoreSee Less

Okay I'm going to make a shameless promotion for the most amazing ski trails ever!! Only 4 hours from Talkeetna but there is NO WIND and 50 miles of groomed trails. Most are wide enough for skate skiing. Mendeltna Creek Lodge; mile 153 of the Glenn Highway. Lodging is very inexpensive ($50/night) and the trails....hot tub and sauna and great food. This should be an annual outing for the club! ... See MoreSee Less

Joe ReichertMuch of the Oosik trail is good to Skate currently. Especially the talkeetna river as accessed from the end of beaver road bot up and down stream. If you do not mind narrow sections the woods are also good. no classic tracks have been set yet but it has been dragged. Ski on

Mark of the park report for 3/10/17
Took the big groomer out today and worked up the set track on the ski trails. Russ came behind and cleaned up any bad spots. We also went on all but Tigger lake and groomed the multi-use trails. We set double track on X lake for the Saturday social ski. Trails are in there prime and lots of nice temps. Come out and enjoy.

50 km of groomed Oosik trail to country rarely visited by most of us. The trail is multi-use except for March 17 and March 18, when tracks will be set and the trail becomes the domain of classic skiers. So take your bike, dogs, sled, snowshoes or skies out now and visit Mama Bear and Papa Bear lake. Wade you rock!!!

Roos Dagiris50km trail part is a must for all trail users in TKA! Beautiful country; willows, rivers, black spruce, birch forest, lakes, moose, dippers, otter, topping of with running down Fish Creek. Didn't find Goldilock, but did see Baby (black) Bear!!!

DeAnn AutreyWhat time does the social ski start and is there any 20 somethings willing to ski with my daughter who is visiting from California? She would love to do the OOSIK if she can meet some people to ski with.
