We had a great turnout today and got the machines under roof. Many hands made for light and fun work! Thanks to Willie Pritti for leading the charge and packing in the hours as well as Arthur Mannix, Christopher Mannix, Iris Vandenham, and Jack West. Also big thanks to Denali Brewing for the spare metal needed to get it done! ... See MoreSee Less

Homesickness strikes for the 100,000th time.

Done!
No more sun, rain and snow on the snowmachine and grooming equipment.

Thanks you WilliP for the initiative and work and BillyB, ArthurM, ChrisM, for helping out. The major job was already done when JackW and I helped finish up today.

Shout-out to Top Noch for lending room, material and equipment and to the Denali brewing company for donating the missing pieces for the steel roofing.

The club is hoping for some grands to come through this fall to get the Powers property ready to move the shed over and to rebuild Mike and Suzanne Fisher's cabin.

Howdy,
We're getting really close to having a shed finished for covering our equipment.
All that remains to be done is attach purlins and then screw on the metal roofing.
We plan on getting this done starting at noon on Sunday.
If anyone can lend a hand it would be much appreciated.
Also we need some more roofing metal if anyone has some spare laying about.
Contact Willi Pritti 354-3451 or me 891-9064. Thanks!!

The Talkeetna Parks Advisory Committee recommended that the Tka Community Council approve the Ridge Trail Plan... which it did.

On May 22nd, the Mat-Su Parks Rec Trails Advisory Board will be in Talkeetna (probably at the Library) to decide whether or not to go ahead and implement it.

It would be good to have good local turnout at that meeting to speak in favor of the RT Plan as well as the Fish Lake Plan.

Laura can you remind me where these lakes are?

Mark of the park report for 4/7/17
Looks like it will freeze tonight. (Friday)
Lakes and ski trails will be good in the mornings.
Saw a couple on X lake this morning. They loved it. moved to the ski trails after. Jim G. pulled the markers for the Erradic loop. Not recommended to ski that trail. Lakes are getting soft in the afternoons also. Snow gets soft around 11:00 am. so, Enjoy one of the last weekends to ski.

Just the motivation I needed thanks!

Three of us ran WHIGMI to dipper this morning at 8:00 and it was still pretty good. Won't last long though.

I rode X-Y Lakes this morning and it was stellar. Some sun cups to deal with, but we got a good freeze last night. The red multi-use trail was too rutted up to be enjoyable. Thanks for all of the grooming this season! Enjoy the sun! ... See MoreSee Less

Arthur Mannix,Karl Swanson, Jack West and I managed to clean out, deconstruct, and haul to the Top Notch log yard Mike & Suzanne Fisher's cabin. The club decided it would be put to best use on the Powers Rd. property and this is phase 1. Thanks go to Karl for getting permission from his neighbors to take the sane way in, putting his machines and equipment at our disposal, and for being tall enough to grab those top few rounds. Thanks Jack for hauling machines and logs around. Thanks Arthur taking the time off your projects to do the hard, dirty work of grunting logs. And thanks to all three of you for keeping the heavy work light. ... See MoreSee Less
